It is also referred to as a parafunction, as opposed to a function (physiological movements that mainly involve chewing).  <\/p>\n\n<p>Bruxism usually happens at night and can cause a range of problems like worn teeth, muscle pain, jaw or joint pain and headaches.<\/p>\n\n<p>It is often a partner or a parent who notices that a patient is grinding their teeth while they sleep.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"bruxismo-quali-sono-le-cause\">What causes bruxism?<\/h2>\n\n<p>It is difficult to identify the cause of bruxism.
